Heathrow’s operations present the opportunity to strengthen the local economy, promoting local business development and growth.
Heathrow handles 40% of the UK’s business air travellers (20 million business passengers each year) and is the country’s largest port by value of freight.
We are committed to ensuring local companies benefit from these opportunities by supporting them to access airport supply chain opportunities offered by the 320 companies that operate within the Airport’s boundary.
Heathrow works in partnership with the local boroughs, chambers of commerce and UK Trade and Investment to offer local businesses:
- Workshops providing networking opportunities
- Introductions to local business networks
- Support with their exporting capabilities
- Introduction to Heathrow and its supply chain
