Taking a bike on public transport

If you wish to take your cycle on public transport here are a few points to note.

Heathrow Express

There is some space available on the trains for passengers, however, space is limited during peak times. Cycles can also be taken free of charge between terminals even if you are not taking your cycle on a flight.

Piccadilly Line: Cycles can be taken on the overground sections, eg between Hounslow and Barons Court, from 10:00 to 15:00 on weekdays and at weekends and bank holidays, subject to space.

District Line: Cycles can be carried between all stations Monday to Friday from 10:00 to 16:00 and after 19:00, and at weekends and bank holidays, subject to space.

South West Trains

Cycles can be carried between 09:45 and 16:30 and after 18:30. They can also be taken free of charge on most services without pre-booking. Please check with South West Trains for exceptions. Cycles are not allowed on rail-link buses or substitute buses. Folding bikes can be taken on any service free of charge. South West Trains also offer racking facilities.
