Improved bus and coach services
We now have four Quality Bus Partnerships for routes serving Heathrow and we have seen improvements to infrastructure, vehicles, reliability and service information. Work has also been undertaken to introduce additional bus services for Terminal 5 and extend other existing routes to provide a more complete network around the airport.

Free Travel Zone
This year we extended the free travel zone around Heathrow to include Terminal 5.

Airport Travel Plan
There are now 40 companies signed up to the airport travel plan. This means around 75% of airport employees now work for an organisation that is actively supporting the reduction of employee car use.

Airport Travel card
The Airport Travel card offers discounted travel for all employees on certain bus, coach and train routes to the airport. Sales have continued to grow with more than 400 users per month.

Car Sharing
Heathrow has continued to increase the number of registered car sharers from 5,784 to 6,301 with around 63% of people regularly car sharing.

With the opening of Terminal 5 in 2008, we spent much of 2007 on developing the new public transport interchange, Piccadilly Line and Heathrow Express extensions and Personal Rapid Transit system. Work has been undertaken with bus and coach operators to ensure public transport services for Terminal 5 meet the needs of staff and passengers alike.
