One of our key strategies is to inform and involve stakeholders and raise awareness of our impact on the communities in which we operate.

As well as continuing our day-to-day methods of local engagement, specifically during 2008, we will:

• Continue dialogue with our local residents around the issue of future growth at the airport
• Undertake the second phase of the consultation on Heathrow Airtrack 
• Carry out a public consultation on the Heathrow draft noise action plan in response to the EU noise directive.

We are required by the Environmental Noise Directive 2002/49/EU and Environmental Noise (England) Regulations 2006 to publish a five-year noise action plan following external consultation. The consultation document will seek views on BAA Heathrow’s action plan to manage aircraft noise impacts over the five year period 2008 – 2013. It will demonstrate our continuing commitment to managing aircraft noise impacts associated with Heathrow’s operations and allow us to engage with communities affected by aircraft noise.
