Community engagement
Did you know?
Over the next five years we will be investing £4.8 billion in the refurbishment and renewal of Heathrow’s facilities.
Community engagement

One of our key strategies is to inform and involve stakeholders and raise awareness of our impact on the communities in which we operate.
As well as continuing our day-to-day methods of local engagement, specifically during 2008, we will:
- Continue dialogue with our local residents around the issue of future growth at the airport
- Undertake the second phase of the consultation on Heathrow Airtrack
- Carry out a public consultation on the Heathrow draft noise action plan in response to the EU noise directive.
We are required by the Environmental Noise Directive 2002/49/EU and Environmental Noise (England) Regulations 2006 to publish a five-year noise action plan following external consultation. The consultation document will seek views on BAA Heathrow’s action plan to manage aircraft noise impacts over the five year period 2008 – 2013. It will demonstrate our continuing commitment to managing aircraft noise impacts associated with Heathrow’s operations and allow us to engage with communities affected by aircraft noise.
