About Heathrow and BAA
Heathrow is the world's busiest international airport. In 2007 almost 68 million passengers passed through the airport flying to around 180 destinations.
The airport directly employs around 72,000 people and supports many more thousands of jobs across the UK. We are owned by the airport group, BAA.
BAA owns seven UK airports, has a 65% stake in Naples Airport and operates retail management contracts at three US airports. In turn, BAA is owned by ADI Limited, a consortium led by Ferrovial, one of the world’s leading construction groups. Ferrovial specialises in airports, transport infrastructure and services – throughout 12 countries in Europe and in the rest of the world. For the fifth year in a row, Ferrovial was the only Spanish construction group to be selected for the Dow Jones Sustainability Index, one of the world’s leading benchmark’s for sustainability. It has also been included on the FTSE4Good Index for socially responsible companies.
