Special assistance: London Underground

The Piccadilly Line connects Heathrow with central London. There are three underground stations – one for Terminals 1, 3 and one each for Terminals 4 and 5. Journey time to central London is about 50 minutes, depending on the exact destination.

Heathrow's underground stations have step-free access to the platforms but many other stations do not.

If you are mobility-impaired we recommend you check your route beforehand with London Underground.

Other information

Heathrow Terminals 1 and 3 underground station is located below the airport's central bus station. On foot it's five to ten minutes from Terminal 1, and ten to 15 minutes from Terminal 3. There are help buttons on either side of the up escalators to call station staff, who will take you to a lift to reach the ticket office level. From here there are lifts to take you to ground level and the central bus station.

Heathrow Terminal 4 underground station is below the terminal. If you are a wheelchair user, you will need to seek assistance from station staff to pass through the trolley barriers.

If you need assistance in order to reach check in, there is a help point on the left side as you leave the station concourse.
