Planned demonstration at Heathrow

27 May 2008

Due to a planned demonstration at the eastern side of Heathrow Airport on Saturday May 31, some disruption is expected to local transport. We are working hard with the Metropolitan Police and the organisers of the march to reduce the impact of the demonstration on Heathrow’s operation.

Passengers are advised to allow extra time when travelling to the airport by road or by bus, or to consider alternative transport options if possible. Long stay car parks and car rental agencies will remain open for passenger use.

-The bus routes affected by the road closures are 81, 90,105, 111,140, 203, 222, 285, 350, 423, 482, 490, A10, H25, H26, H98, U3, X26. These will be diverted away from the affected areas.

-Envoy Avenue (westbound), Eastern Perimeter Road (southbound), Northern Perimeter Road (south/eastbound) and Nene Road (eastbound) will be closed from 7am, and reopened as the march passes through.

-The A4 Bath Road between Harlington Corner and Sipson Road, A408 Sipson Road and local roads in Sipson will be closed for a short time in the afternoon. One way systems will be in operation between Waggoners Roundabout and Stanwell Moor Road. You are advised to use a different route if possible.

-The Parking Express long stay car park will only be accessible from the northbound/westbound direction on the Eastern Perimeter Road.

-Enterprise Car Rental will only be accessible from the northbound/westbound direction on the Eastern Perimeter Road.

-Avis Car Rental will only be accessible from the westbound direction on the Northern Perimeter Road.
