Where do you live?

Living in the South East of England it is likely that aircraft operating to and from one or more of the major airports will at some point fly over your property. Of course the height and number of aircraft will depend on where you live in relation to the airport and its runways. Broadly speaking the closer you are to the airport the lower and more frequent the aircraft will be. This is not always the case, for example if you live or work under a holding stack or in line with the runway you may well experience more aircraft overhead than if you were closer to the airport, but offset from the runway final approach path or the various departure routes. The direction of the wind will also greatly affect how many aircraft you see over your location. You may find for example that you are only over-flown when the wind is blowing from the east.

This website is designed to help you understand the flight patterns of aircraft operating into and out of Heathrow Airport. You can use the Webtrak connection to plot your postcode location and replay a period of Heathrow flights.

If you find you need more information, or have questions you would like answering please don’t hesitate to contact us at the Heathrow Operations Communications office using this site, email, telephone or post, under the Contact us section.
