The Government has recognised the need to meet the demand for future growth by identifying Stansted  as the airport for the first new full length runway in southern England for over half a century.

This is exactly the right time for everyone to focus on the positive benefits the airport brings and to help us ensure that the future development of Stansted is delivered in a way which maximises the economic benefits and minimises the negative social and environmental impacts upon local people".
