London Underground's Piccadilly Line offers the most cost-effective rail route between the airport and central London.

Train timesJourney time is under an hour and you shouldn't have to wait longer than ten minutes for a train, even off-peak. The first train arrives at 05:09 and the last leaves at 00:22.
Where to catch trainsTerminal 5's rail and underground station is located under the terminal complex and linked to arrivals and departures by glazed express lifts. It's near the blue colour-coded pillar in the arrivals concourse.
Fares and ticketsA single fare to central London costs approximately £4. Purchase a Travelcard and you're covered for London buses and some mainline trains too.
Tickets are available at all Underground stations, from ticket offices or machines. Heathrow Terminal 5 will be in Travelcard Zone 6.

During the night the N9 night bus connects Heathrow with central London, stopping at Hounslow, Brentford, Chiswick, Hammersmith and Aldwych .
