Air Quality
Target
100% implementation of the air quality action plan for 2005/06, to reduce airport related emissions of NOx and PM10

Performance against target
Of the 10 actions, 7 were fully achieved; 2 were partly achieved; 1 was not achieved.

Climate Change
Target
Reduce site carbon dioxide emissions by 2% against business as usual forecast, through improvements in energy efficiency.

Performance against target
The site carbon dioxide emissions were 4% less than the ‘business as usual’ forecast.

Noise
Target
100% implementation of Heathrow noise strategy action plan for 2005/06, designed to work towards meeting future noise contour limits (these apply as follows: - 145km2 leq contour from 1 Jan 2016 with a contour of 127 km2 with any further capacity development at Heathrow).

Performance against target
Of the nine actions, 4 were fully achieved; 5 were partly achieved.

Surface Transport
Target
1) Reduce single occupancy car use by Heathrow employees by 1% on 2005/05 by 31 March 2006.   2) Increase the number of air passengers using public transport from 36% in 2004/05 to 37% by 31 March 2006.

Performance against target
1).The Heathrow-wide staff survey is undertaken every five years, and was not undertaken during the last financial year. However Heathrow increased the number of registered car sharers from 4745 to 5784 with 61.91% regularly sharing.

Waste
Target
Increase the percentage of contact waste recycled and composted from 21% to 24%

Performance against target
The percentage of waste recycled was increased from 20% in 2004/05 to 25% by the end of March 2006.

Biodiversity
Target
Implement the 15 key actions contained in the biodiversity strategy action plan for 2005/06 in order to support the Government in its objective to reverse the current decline in biodiversity and to integrate biodiversity factors into our decision making.

Performance against target
Of the 12 actions, 4 were fully achieved; 8 were partly achieved.

Water Quality
Target
100% implementation of the water quality strategy action plan for 2005/06, to improve the quality of our discharges and ensure no net decline in the biological quality of receiving water bodies.

Performance against target
Of the 17 actions, 13 were fully achieved; 3 were partly achieved; and 1 was not achieved.

Water Conservation
Target 2005/06
Reduce Heathrow water consumption by 2% against the business as usual forecast, through improvements in water conservation.

Performance against target
The site water consumption was 20% more than the business as usual forecast.
